On average, a single tree can produce 17 reams of paper or around 500 individual sheets. The average time it takes a tree to grow to full size is nearly 100 years, so the human-planted adult trees that we see today were planted sometime around 1922. Production has increased exponentially since 1922, leading many to believe that the use of trees has increased, but at an equivalent rate. Unfortunately, that isn’t the case. It is estimated that humans cut down nearly 15 billion trees every year, while we only plant back about 5 billion. This means that without the help of companies and corporations across the globe, irreversible environmental damage will occur due to the significant reduction in the tree population.

Doing Our Part

At RTech we take important strides to ensure that we operate under eco-friendly guidelines, which is why all of our billing is paperless. Every invoice our customers receive comes via email or over the phone, keeping paper use down and reducing our carbon footprint. Every tree that is cut down releases 110 lbs of CO2 into the atmosphere, whereas every tree that remains standing can absorb over 2,000 lbs of CO2 throughout its lifetime. On a conservative estimate, annual billing for all clients requires around 15 reams of paper for the entire RTech office. By sending invoices virtually, we are saving nearly 1,650 lbs of CO2 from being released into the atmosphere. As our company continues to grow and reach more clients, we will stay committed to lowering paper consumption and protecting our environment.
